In the summer, Vinny Miller was expected to be one of the dominant receivers in Kentucky, but the 5-foot-11 junior was suspended and forced to sit out the first part of the year.
"Sitting out was the hardest thing I've had to endure. Football is my love," Miller said. "I couldn't sleep the week that I was coming back. I knew I had to make a statement that I deserve to be the top player out of Kentucky in 2012," continued.
When he came back, an injury sidelined starting quarterback Jerry Williams, so Miller has stepped into that role.
"I've performed best at quarterback (this year)," said Miller. "But once Jerry gets back I should do well at wide receiver," he said.
Miller has had two full games at quarterback, going 11-14 for 253 yards and two touchdowns. He has also had 34 rushes for 389 yards and seven touchdowns. Miller also has six catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.
"I think my stats and my team's stats tell the story of my impact," Miller said. "My goal is to win state and have 2000 all-purpose yards this season," Miller finished.
Things are still early for Miller on the recruiting front, but he's hearing from Kentucky, Louisville, Florida State, Michigan State, Nebraska, Michigan, Mississippi State and Illinois. So far, Miller is hearing mostly from the two in-state schools.
"I've taken three unofficials to both Kentucky and Louisville. They are both showing a good amount of interest," he finished.
