One of the top senior prospects in the state of Kentucky has made his decision and he's headed to New York.

Not long ago, Kal Prince got his first offer: from Columbia University in New York. Prince didn't take long to make up his mind and decide to become a Lion.

"I took a visit (to Columbia) during the summer," said Prince. "I am taking an official visit in December," he said.

Prince came away impressed with the Ivy League school.

"It's awesome. I am wanting to focus on my academics in college, so it is a good fit. It would be a place I could play early on also," he said.

Unfortunately, Prince's high school career ended prematurely as he had an injury that wound up being a season ending injury.

"I broke my fibia about four weeks back, but I have already healed," said Prince.

The Red Devils lost their first round playoff game to Grayson County, 28-22.

"If they had won that game, I would have been cleared to play the next week because I had just started running again," he said.

Prince makes the second Kentucky quarterback to pick an Ivy League school recently. Conner Hempel committed to Harvard.

"(Competing against Conner) will be pretty cool," said Prince.
