Fern Creek had their struggles this year, finishing the season at 4-8. One of their senior leaders, Jerrell Moore understood why the season went the way it did.
"I think the season went okay this year," he said. "We were very young. We had our bumps and bruises, but I think we did alright," he continued.
Although the statistics are incomplete, through eight games, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Moore had rushed for 734 yards and eight touchdowns. Moore also caught 11 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns.
"Individually, I think I didn't get a chance to peform my best, but I did okay," Moore said. "I think I became a better leader this season," he said.
Moore could play a number of positions at the next level and the Louisville Cardinals could use him at running back, receiver or even in the defensive backfield. Either way it goes, Moore plans to work hard to get ready for next year.
"I plan on going crazy in the weight room during the off-season to get ready for the next level," he said.
"I plan on taking a couple of visits just to look around and see what else is out there, but my commitment is still strong with Louisville," he finished.
