The Kentucky State Championship games this weekend will provide an opportunity to see several of the best players in the state. Here's who to watch out for.

Mayfield: Jonathan Jackson – Sophomore – Running Back/ Linebacker – Jackson is one of the state's top sophomore prospects. He plays on both sides of the ball and while he has rushed for over 1200 yards at the running back spot, he excels as a middle linebacker for the defense.

Louisville Central: Anthony Wales - Junior – Running Back/ Defensive Back – "Ace" Wales is Kentucky's top underclassman running back, accounting for over 2700 yards rushing and 35 touchdowns. Wales is a smooth back who looks effortless in his stride. Look for Wales to be a key for Central if they are to defeat Belfry.

Boyle County: Lamar Dawson - Senior – Linebacker/ Running Back – Lamar Dawson is not only one of the top players in Kentucky's 2011 class, but one of the best in the nation. Dawson is a big, fast and aggressive linebacker who makes plays all over the field, with over 150 tackles made on the season. Dawson will also play some running back for Boyle County.

Highlands: Patrick Towles - Junior – Quarterback – Patrick Towles is one of the top quarterbacks in Kentucky, regardless of classification. Towles has a big arm and has a great football IQ. Towles can also run the ball effectively, moving the chains not only in short yardage situations, but also on designed QB runs. Towles has thrown for 2418 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has rushed for 715 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Christian County: Marcoreyon Tandy - Senior – Wide Receiver – "Bubba" Tandy is one of the state's top athletes and capable of scoring anytime he touches the ball. Tandy plays with fire and intensity and during the playoffs, he has shown a will to win, carrying his team to three tough wins in the playoffs. Tandy is an all-purpose offensive threat rushing for almost 700 yards and 11 touchdowns and catching almost another 700 yards work of passes and seven more touchdowns.

Trinity: Derek Bishop - Senior – Running Back – Derek Bishop has been the most consistent player for Trinity this season in their fourteen games played so far. Bishop has shown the ability to gain the tough yardage between the tackles and also break free into the open for long gainers. Bishop has been a workhorse this season, rushing for more than half of the Shamrocks' yardage (1679) and scoring 25 touchdowns on the ground.

Male: Ronjae Morris - Junior – Running Back – Ronjae Morris is a sleeper prospect known throughout the city of Louisville for his ability to break the big play. Morris is slight in frame but huge in heart as he takes on bigger players on every play and still comes out with positive results. Morris slashes through small gaps and breaks free for big gains. Morris has rushed for almost 1200 yards and 11 touchdowns this season against quality competition.
