Zack Templin was one of the players in the state with high major interest from several schools, but in the end, Templin went were he felt most comfortable and wanted.
A 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior, Zack Templin has chosen to attend Campbellsville. Templin had offers from Lindsey-Wilson, Campbellsville and Kentucky State. Templin also had a preferred walk-on offer to the University of Kentucky.
“I loved Campbellsville,” said Templin. “The campus is small, but spread out enough to get that big school feel. Everyone was so nice and the coaches seemed really interested. I was my best offer. And I will be playing early; may be starting my first year. I felt like I belonged,” he continued.
Templin’s work ethic, size and strength will give him an opportunity to play early on for Campbellsvile.
“I see myself as the starting left tackle. I want to contribute to my team as fast as I can. They call me a blue-chipper, so I’m going to show them that I really am,” he continued.
Templin felt good about the offer to Lindsey-Wilson, but he fell in love with the Campbellsville campus.
“At first Lindsey-Wilson offered me a pretty great package and that was pretty much it. I just wanted to check out Campbellsville. On that day I was sold on (them). I see myself as a Tiger,” he finished.
Templin has worked hard the last few years and is very excited to finally be nearing the end of the recruiting process.
“I’m so excited that I’m speechless. It’s been a long two years of non-stop visits and camps. A lot of time and heart put into it,” he said. “But not it’s worth it. It’s the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I can’t wait to sign that letter,” he finished.
