The 2013 class at Trinity (Ky.) is completely loaded with players like James Quick, Travis Wright and Ryan White. However Jason Hatcher could be the top defensive underclassman in all of Kentucky.

The sophomore had 40.5 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and a fumble forced this season, leading Trinity to a 14-1 record and a 6-A state title this season. Because of the performance, he's a hot name in the class and many schools are looking to get him on campus. He recently visited Kentucky.

"I think the visit was a great experience, not only for me, but all my teammates as well," said Hatcher.

Other Trinity prospects on that visit included: James Quick, John Heile, Ryan White and Dalyn Dawkins. Hatcher believed that experience on the visit taught him and his teammates how valuable and special it is to earn a scholarship offer.

"We got to see that we do have a chance to play ball after high school at a very high level. That was important because every day we see a lot of other players we know that are real good, but don't get offered," he said.

In the end, the UK staff told the group about their philosophy as a staff.

"The coaches talked about winning in the classroom first and then being a winner on the field," Hatcher said.

Hatcher is being recruited by Kentucky, Louisville, Alabama, Arkansas and Illinois.
