The Derby Classic, a high school basketball all-star game held annually in Louisville, will include five Kentucky seniors, including Mr. Basketball 2011.
Christian County’s Anthony Hickey (5-foot-10, 170-pounds) has been added to the Derby Classic roster. Hickey was named Mr. Basketball after leading his team to the state championship this past season.
Hickey’s being recruited by South Carolina, Tennessee, Nebraska, TCU, Western Kentucky and several others.
Also on the roster are Jeffersontown wing Tony Kimbro (6-foot-6, 180-pounds), the other unsigned player. Kimbro’s, Tony Kimbro Sr. played for Louisville under Denny Crum. Kimbro has an offer from Western Kentucky and is hearing from Indiana and Auburn.
Louisville signee Zach Price will compete in the contest. Price is a teammate of Kimbro at Jeffersontown High. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound senior is the top rated player in Kentucky according to Scout.com.
Western Kentucky signee George Fant (6-foot-7, 230-pounds), who led Warren Central to the state tournament this season, is on the roster.
McDonald’s All-American Chane Behanan (6-foot-7, 230-pounds) will make the Derby classic his second all-star game as well. The Louisville signee is Scout.com’s second ranked player in Kentucky.
Fant, Kimbro and the Louisville signees are on the white team. Hickey will be on the Gold team.
The game will be held on Friday, April 22nd at the Yum! Center in Louisville.
