After entertaining interest from a host of schools, Jack Whitman offered up a verbal commitment late Monday night.
Whitman, a standout at Lexington (Ky.) Catholic, committed to Williams & Mary. Lexington Catholic head coach Brandon Salsman confirmed the news to Scout.com.
"Jack really made sure he went through the process thoroughly," Salsman said. "In the end I think his relationship with the coaches at Williams & Mary, especially Jonathan Holmes, was the deciding factor."
"They really made him feel like he would be a piece that they would build around for the next four years," he added.
Prior to picking WIlliam & Mary, Whitman had narrowed his list of schools to Princeton, Bucknell, Rice and Florida Gulf Coast.
As a junior, Whitman averaged 19.8 points and 10 rebounds a game.
