Owensboro Catholic Faces Corbin

Owensboro Catholic and Marshall commit Zach Bernard looks to advance to the State Finals.

Owensboro Catholic takes on a tough Corbin team in the Class AA State Semifinals. Corbin advanced to the semis by taking down Elizabethtown and Mr. Football Candidate Chris Todd. Owensboro Catholic head coach John Edge will rely upon the arm of his star quarterback, Zach Bernard. "Zach is the leader of this team and his game will need to be on against a very physical Corbin team," says Edge.

Edge says he knows Corbin will try to do what they did against Elizabethtown, "They blitz a lot!"

In order to slow down Corbin, Edge says his young offensive line will have to play huge. "We have a very young offensive line with only one senior and this line was a big question mark at the beginning of the year, but they have stepped up and played well," Edge says.

Owensboro Catholic defeated Glasgow in the quarterfinals last week and coach Edge says, "We still haven't played our best game yet this year."

Look for an exciting game and a hard fough contest as Bernard looks to throw his team into the State Finals. However, Corbin will not lay down. Corbin has already taken out Elizabethtown and Chris Todd and are capable of a repeat performance.
