Class A Champions! Beechwood

The Class A State Championship ended moments ago at Louisville's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium with Beechwood defeating Danville 23-7.

The Beechwood defense held Danville's Kelvin Turner, the state's 7th leading rusher this season to just 76 yards on 18 carries. Turner had 88 yards at the half and recorded -12 yards in the second half.

Beechwood quarterback Patrick Muth scored three touchdowns, two passing, one rushing.

Running back Dustin Menetrey blitzed the Danville defense for 187 rushing yards on 34 carries.

This is Beechwood's first state title since the 1999 season.
