Jerrell Moore is among the best players in Kentucky's 2011 class. He's spent time split out at receiver and also playing running back. Moore is athletically capable of excelling at either spot. He had almost 1700 yards last year rushing and receiving with the yardage almost equally split down the middle.
That effort led to offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Eastern Michigan and Western Kentucky. Moore also gets heavy interest from Purdue, Oregon and Illinois. But Moore chose to go with the hometown Louisville Cardinals and Charlie Strong.
"I really like the fact that it took (Strong) no time to offer me," said Moore. "He has a lot of experience and he knows the game. For him to tell me that I can compete at the next level; it was an honor," he said.
Moore believes his skill set is a great match for the plans that Strong and his staff hope to implement. "I like the style of play they will be playing. I will fit right into the system," he said. "I just need to work on getting stronger and bigger and I think I will do fine," he continued.
Jerrell was also a participant at one of Louisville's camps this spring and felt good about his performance. "I've been to Louisville's camp. I think I did very good there. The competition was good. They had guys from just about everywhere," he continued.
There is also a personal goal that Moore wants to reach this year. "I want to make the Under Armor game this year," he said.
