"Nick just got his first offer from Army," said Michael Bennett, Nick's father.
Bennett had been receiving heavy interest from The Black Knights and they finally decided to pull the trigger on an offer.
As a junior, Nick Bennett had a strong season, mostly because he saw himself become a better player in several aspects of his game, but also because of physical growth. "I think I had my best season yet," he said. "I was bigger than I was my sophomore year, so I could focus more on my technique. There weren't many people who would bulrush me, so I used my size to make better blocks."
The 6-foot-1, 275-pound is somewhat undersized, but he uses that to his advantage. "At my position I use my athleticism and my quickness so I can get on linebackers real fast. My ability to trap and pull are strengths. My quickness helps me," he said.
"I can always improve my strength. And I think I need to get a little faster," he said.
We will have more on Bennett's offer in the coming days.
