Friday's Standouts (September 3rd)

Each week Scout Kentucky Preps will bring you some of the best performances in the state and tell you a little about each player.

Fort Thomas Highlands has been one of the state's most dominant programs for many years. This season they look as if they will continue that dominance. Highlands defeated Beechwood last night 50-24, extending their unbeaten streak against in-state foes to 44 straight games.

Patrick Towles, a 6-foot-5, 232-pound quarterback led the way for Highlands going 10-17 and 288 yards and five touchdowns in the win. Towles looks to be one of the best quarterback prospects in Kentucky, regardless of class.

While Towles was outstanding with Highlands, Trinity defeated Manual in a big way, 42-7 behind a good looking sophomore.

Travis Wright, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound sophomore, had a great game for the Shamrocks. Wright went 20-26 for 298 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Part of a dynamic sophomore class, Wright could be leading the most talented and most dominant team in the state. Recommended Stories
